Welcome - to a collection of ideas that you can use in your English classroom. This blog is a place where we can all share ideas, post things that catch our interest and our eyes, post samples of student work and discuss a whole raft of things.
What is a blog?
A blog (short for web log) is a 'website where entries are written in chronological order and commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs' (wikipedia).
So blogs and blogging are part of the phenomenon that is Web 2.0 - the interactive element of the world wide web. This is where many of our students spend their time. Join one of the fastest growing web communities and become a 'blogger'.
